Homecoming 2006
Our 53rd Anniversary

Mt. Zion G/B Church was organized in 1952 and has been at the present location since 1960. We believe God has located the church here to be a witness to many people passing by.

"MT. ZION HOMECOMING" is a poem written by Eula Patterson in 1981 in honor of our 29th Homecoming. Sister Patterson has since gone on to be with the Lord but we wanted to keep her memory as well as her beautiful words alive.

The children started us off with a song.

Pastor Mike makes a few announcements and gets us ready for the rest of the days events.

    -KIDS CORNER-

We all look forward to learning about the love of Jesus along with the kids.

We were blessed to have The Disciples Quartet perform several songs of praise and worship.

Brother Billy made a few announcements and introduced our guest speaker...

... Reverend Vernon Smalling. Brother Smalling pastored Mt. Zion from Sept. 1965 to June 1976.

Several members of our children's church along with their teacher, Lindsay Loggins. Ain't they adorable?

A few of our faithful setting up for the best pitch-in lunch ever.

Penny "Kitty Feet" McGowan putting the finishing touches on one of the tables. We just HAD to put this picture up.

Getting ready to eat. Notice Virt "Chef Saluto" McGowan in the background.

Have you noticed that we've focused an awful lot of attention on eating?

Pam and Rev. Smalling in a deep, philosophical discussion. Or maybe they're just exchanging stuffing recipes.
