Mt. Zion has a group that meets two times a month, on the second and
forth Thursdays. They are called
the "Happy Survivors". At these meetings, the group enjoys devotions,
games, fellowship and food.
Emphasis is geared toward people age 50 and above, however, we welcome
anyone, of any age. We usually have around 25 attendees, plus or minus,
but no matter how many show up, it's always a fun and uplifting time.
Meetings are usually scheduled for the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every
month at 10:30am (check our calendar
regularly for scheduling changes). Lunch is enjoyed at the church one
month and at a local restaurant the next. The group also takes in
special trips and events from time to time.
Our main goal is to bring some joy and happiness to the lives of those
attending. Please feel free to drop in on us any time. We look forward to
meeting you and making new friends.
Check out the fun time that some of our members have had!

We titled this picture "Wishful Thinking" (in case you
can't tell, that's a brush in his hand). Garland has so much fun at
these Happy Survivor meetings that he sometimes loses his... mind.
|

We had a meeting of the minds a while
back. I wonder which one is using the mind this time. |

Here we see the real brains of the outfit (the ones in the front
row).
|

Take a look at the newest, future member
of the Happy Survivors. Looks like he'll fit right in too (notice his
mouth is already open, waiting for food). |

We recently celebrated our Associate Pastor, Billy Davidson's
birthday.
|

We also celebrated Flag Day. We're a small but growing group of
patriots that love our country.
|

Brother Jim shared a touching story
about America and our flag.
|

Brother Howard read a heart-felt story as well.
|

The Happy Survivors blessed us with several songs during our
Christmas Play on December 16th 2006.
|

Here's the other half (some say better half... we're not so sure) of
these gleeful singers. We really appreciated having them perform for
us. |

A recent tour of channel 13 TV studios
was very fun and informative. One of us was even offered a news
anchor position. OK, not really, but it could have happened.
|

We
live up to our name "Happy Survivors" when we go on outings.
This was a trip to the Indy 500 Museum. If only we could have found
the keys. |

There has been some clowning around at our meetings. Giggles is the
clown. She's the one on the right in case you were confused.

Enjoying each other at one of our meetings.
|

We
enjoy consuming good food at different types of restaurants.
|

This
group picture was taken at one of our Christmas meetings.
|

The
trip to Eli Lilly's home was great.
|

The
home of James Whitcomb Riley was very interesting.
|

Our
boat ride on Cataract Lake was a real treat.
|

The
ladies are very talented with food. We are celebrating one of our
five anniversaries.
|

Our
church bus provides transportation, time for fellowship and singing.
|

The
Marshall's yard made a great place to eat when they hosted our
Cataract Lake trip.
